Looks like could be a good programme this Saturday. Channel 4-starts 7.10pm til 9.10pm.
Richard Rudgley, the guy that did the 'pagans' four parter a year or so back does it this time for the celts. Seems he's going to try n dispel myths n errors about them, where they came from, culture etc. As usual the tv guide reviewer rubbishs the programme, n the idea behind it. They did that with the pagans shows too, which i thought were fairly good.
Anyways, i know not exactly heathen, but i always class celts as very similar to many of the heathen races. Plus it's a history programme, which i love. So check it out.

i liked it. Knew most of what was shown. Although some of the early history i didnt, so was good to hear about that.
Thought that yet again he focused a lil too much on the gore factor. yes they were brutal headhunters, but i just felt the focus in places was a lil too harsh. Nice sections on the art though. I thought he helped show the evolution of 'celtic' art accross europe to britain, scotland and ireland.

Liked the fact that they represented The Celts as a culture as opposed to 'a single race'. Liked the art. Didn't mind the head hunting, shame they didn't explain the possible reasons for it tho!
