Greetings all
Right, for some time now i've been pondering a logo to replace that annoying text above the forum menu. But so far i havent come up with anything, so i thought i would throw it open to you all.
So anyone got any ideas please post them here and we shall look at them say in two months time.

Thats a nice idea Elfie. I'll play around with it n see if i can come up with anything. As to the cult of thor thing, there a few out there pushing thor as the best thing since sliced bread and a true superhero. In fact they may even go as far as claiming him the true all father soon, lol.
I like Mjolnir, but due to the cult thing and it has been used by many groups, i'd like something slighty new and try to stear clear of anything limited to one god, yes i know i like the odin one, but i'm only playing around with it at the moment.

As kindred is a social thing, what about a great big drinking horn full of mead? I realise it would be difficult to show it's full of mead, but as long as I know it is...I don't mind

Logo: I like the Lady with a drinking horn idea as it is welcoming as well as traditional.

I thought about that one too karen, it is often linked to Freyja, but it's simple and very welcoming indeed. Nice ideas folks please keep them coming, i shall gather them up n get my pencils working soon to see what i can come up with. *this thread has been edited due to off topic discussion. Keep it on track. If you have a problem take it to pm or rantroom or i will start removing membership!!!* Lion*stamps paw*

I did consider the valknut, but i'd like to stear clear of any symbol linked mainly with one god. Plus Odinism doesn't have a great image still. A horn, a lady, runes an irminsul n a valknut are favs so far. With moving in a week or so my design bits are packed away, so give me a month or so before i'm able to doodle. Lion

I had to go back through the thread to understand the idea for "a lady with a horn." For that reason I am a little hesitant to support this logo.
I agree that the logo should be more "universial" in nature. My preference would be for an image of Yggdrasil ringed by runes.
Another idea would be for someone who has been in the group for a long time and comfortable with runic work to develop a runic symbol for the group...

Yggdrasil would seem the logical choice, it's neutral symbol with many meanings.
I created Kin-UK along with Syn, i have had an interest in runes since my teens, while not a master i know what i'm doing. I'm confident enough to create a bindrune for use as a logo, to ensure it's meaning is neutral, it's intent the same and not magical in any way.
A nice idea Slvr, real nice. Maybe folks could suggest runes they feel would be appropriate. Kindred-UK is neutral ground, we are trying to create relations and network with heathens around the UK whether already in a kindred/garth/hearth or not. Use that to help you choose a rune that you feel may convey this.
