I am a member of the Asatru mailing group on Yahoo and was recently sent a post talking of a heathen festival in Peterborough. I thought this may be of interest to you and was wondering if anyone else here was planning on going? For those who would like a little more info you can find it here: www.wodenshearth.co.uk/If you look at events you should be able to find info there. I'm not sure if I can go or not but it looks like it could be good!

It does look good but I'm not sure whether I'll get there or not yet.

Well as I said I'm not even sure if I can make it either but it does look good. I'm considering going to a moot of some sort too soon. I admit I don't know as much about heathenry as these people probably do but I would say the best way to learn is to get out there and experience it!
Quiet here again! lol

Phil: I went last year & really enjoyed it; it would have been even better if it hadn't pissed down all weekend & the speakers didn't have to compete with screaming kids on some sort of dodgem rides. There only seemed to be 3 or 4 people involved in organising it & (having done this type of event myself) I thought they did a good job of it; my 2 gripes were beyond their control. Hopefully with a new venue (& some decent weather) things will be even better this year; I'm intending to go again this year. Hope to meet some of you there! Wassail! Phil & Dona.

I remember breifly meeting Ragnar(i think it was) at one of the beltane bashes n him handing me a flyer for their first one. It looked impressive and wasn't too bad by all accounts. And i've heard nowt but good for the event.
We are indeed hoping to go, but as my darlin said we will be able to say yay or nay much closer to the time. August is a busy time in this hearth, two burpday's n hopefully the business would have picked up a tad by then so, we will have to see. But hopefully.
Perhaps we could get a thread going to arrange a formal Kin-UK meet-up??.

That would be cool! It would certainly be nice to meet some of you be it at the Heathenfest or at some sort of Kindred UK gathering!

One year I will get to Heathenfest. Although primarily a Druid, I camp twice a year with folks of mixed traditions, Heathens, Druids, Wiccans and other less well-known Trads.
Unfortunately, I have a very tempremental VW camper which needs working on. Currently I don't have the cash to do it, so it looks unlikely that I will be going to the next camp, let alone Heathenfest!

I hope I will have the money together. There are also other factors to go into that will have to be considered.

Hailsa to All. We've been in touch with Paul of Wodens Hearth who are hosting Heathenfest & he has said he'll send us details of the local campsite, which we wil pass on as soon as we get them; the event is being held in town this year, which is a bit of a shame, but if anyone is into camping overnight for the event we can organise tents; we've got access to as many as needed through the local Scout & Guide troop. Wassail! Phil & Dona.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO ;D Camping, aye we are up for that. We have a tent so no worries on that score, but thanks for the offer guys. I'll double check with Syn, but give us a few more weeks and we would have finalised whether we are going for sure. So, come on guys n gals, why not make this Kin-uk's first offical meet-up aye , beer, mead maybe even some food, muwhahahahaha. Lion

Ooh, I may well have to attend that.
It feels so lonely being a heathen around here. ;P
